First of all, the source has said that the female villain of the film will not be Ursa, but another Kryptonian loyal to Zod, Faora. The character of Ursa in "Superman: The Movie" and "Superman II" was actually based on Faora. In the Superman comic books, Faora was a master of martial arts. The character of Faora has been featured in the television show "Smallville" as well.
The source also revealed that Jor-El and Lara (Clark Kent/Kal-El/Superman's Kryptonian parents) will feature in the film and that Daniel Day-Lewis was being looked at to play Jor-El, not General Zod as previously reported. If this is true, it may mean that Viggo Mortensen was in the running to play Jor-El as well and not Zod. Since Daniel Day-Lewis turned down the role, there is a chance Viggo Mortensen might get the role.
The source also said that Krypton will not look like the crystal/ice planet in the previous Superman films (including "Superman: The Movie", "Superman II", "Superman III", "Supergirl", "Superman IV: The Quest for Peace", and "Superman Returns"). The source claims that Krypton will probably look more like the Coruscant skyline from the prequel "Star Wars" trilogy.
"Man of Steel" is set to star Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane and Michael Shannon. It will be directed by Zack Snyder and released in 2012.
