According to FusedFilm, we still may not have seen the last of Michael Scott. “The Office” producer Randy Cordray has revealed that Steve Carell may still return as a guest star. Carell will no longer be the main character of course, but Cordray was quick to point out that he would love for Carell to come back on the show and noted that “We haven’t killed the guy, we haven’t killed his character.” Condray did point out that he can’t promise that Carell will ever return but that Carell hasn’t ruled out returning for a guest spot or two in the future.
Cordray was far more tight lipped regarding Carell’s replacement next season. Cordray told the site “I think the Office is in an exciting transition period, and I really believe in the future of the show. The writers, and Paul Lieberstein, and Greg Daniels are very, very brilliant people and will reinvent this show in an exciting way. There are a lot of scenarios being played out.”
The season finale will be entitled “Search Committee” and will focus on finding a replacement for Michael Scott. The finale will guest star Jim Carrey, Ricky Gervais, Will Arnett, James Spader and Catherine Tate.
