Robinov is also confirming that in addition to a "Justice League" movie, Warner Bros. is also looking to "reinvent" Batman after "The Dark Knight Rises". "The Dark Knight Rises" will likely be Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale's last Batman film. Nolan will still stay on as a producer for another Batman movie after "The Dark Knight Rises", but it is unknown if the next Batman film will be a loose continuation of "The Dark Knight Rises" or a complete reboot. Robinov revealed that he will have to talk to Christopher Nolan and (his wife and producing partner) Emma Thomas about what the next phase will be regarding another Batman movie. Warner Bros. is eager to keep the character as the centerpiece to their DC universe.
Robinov also revealed that, in addition to "Justice League" and "Green Lantern 2", scripts are being written for feature films featuring "The Flash" and "Wonder Woman". Robinov also added that "The Flash" and "Wonder Woman" films may come after a "Justice League" movie (so "The Flash" and "Wonder Woman" movies would serve as spin off films). While "Wonder Woman" is being made into a television show at the moment likely to debut later this year, Robinov was quick to point out that "Wonder Woman could be a film as well, the same way that ‘Superman Returns’ came out while ‘Smallville’ was on."
On a related note, the folks at HeyUGuys recently chatted with Zack Snyder and he told them that neither his Superman (Henry Cavill) or Christopher Nolan's Batman (Christian Bale) will be appearing in the "Justice League" movie, but that the characters of Superman and Batman will still appear in the film, just with different actors and a different backstory. Perhaps Brandon Routh may still end up playing the Man of Steel again after all! I think it is a safe bet that if Cavill and Bale aren't appearing in "Justice League", that Ryan Reynolds will not return as Green Lantern as well (although you never know).
So...big news from the DC and Warner Bros.! Warner Bros. is hoping to get the "Justice League" movie made around 2013 or 2014, although all that can change. Thank you for checking out my blog! Your support means a lot to me!
