This movie is about Captain Jack Sparrow’s search for the legendary Fountain of Youth. Of course, he isn’t the only one searching for the famous fountain. Angelica Malon, a girlfriend from Sparrow’s past is also searching for the fountain. Malon is played by Penelope Cruz. Barbossa is back played by Geoffrey Rush only this time he is working for the royal British Navy, and he wants to find the fountain also. Blackbeard, played by Ian McShane is also looking for the fountain. Blackbeard’s ship is called the Queen Anne’s Revenge. The actual ship, Queen Anne’s Revenge, was found about a week after the movie opened. In my opinion, finding a historical ship that was featured in the movie was quite a feat for Disney.
The movie had mermaids and zombies. I will admit that the search for the fountain was kind of boring. I could have gotten a lot more involved in the story if they had been searching for a typical pirate treasure--dingo bones, bacon, etc. I have to admit that I wasn’t that excited about finding water. I have plenty of water in my water bowl so I thought it was kind of a silly thing to go after, but the humans seem to like the idea of being younger. I suppose being a puppy again might be nice, but I’d still rather have dingo bones and bacon.
Anyway, I can’t tell you whether they found the fountain or not because it would be a “spoiler”, and I know the humans can be picky about not eating things that are spoiled. I really enjoyed this movie, and I would give it 4 paws up, a tail wag a couple of tummy rubs, and a pigs ear. That is 10 out of 10 with Jeff’s silly human movie rating system.
