Look, I have nothing against films based on board games or toys. I actually liked "Transformers" and to a lesser degree "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" and "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra". I just feel like perhaps some toys and board games are best left as toys and board games. "Transformers" turned out well but not every toy based movie will turn out well. I am interested to see what Ridley Scott does with "Monopoly" though. Ridley Scott is one of the greatest filmmakers of all time. From "Alien" to "Kingdom of Heaven, from "Blade Runner" to "Gladiator", from "Thelma & Louise" to "American Gangster", the man has proven his skill behind a lens and his range as a filmmaker. I am not expecting much from "Monopoly", but I would not mind being pleasantly surprised by Ridley Scott's take on the board game. The only other film based on a board game that has been made (that I can think of off the top on my head) was "Clue". I wasn't a big fan of the movie "Clue" but I will give his new crop of movies a chance. I am a fair person and will wait till I see a trailer or read more about these projects to pass judgment one way or another.
Well, I better head off. Thank you for visiting and come back often!
